Custom Awards for Corporate Events Ideas
FineAwards.com of South Florida has partnered with the Miami Dolphins Foundation Fishing Tournament as the official crystal award sponsor.
The Miami Dolphins Foundation was established in 1995 as the fundraising arm of the Miami Dolphins Football Team. The Dolphins, through the Foundation, have made a commitment to the betterment of South Florida youth through a direct focus on, but not limited to, educational, health, social and community service issues.
The Miami Dolphins Foundation contributes, whenever possible, to charitable groups that are compatible with the philosophy of the Foundation. Resources for contributions are procured through various fundraising events throughout the year, such as the Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament, the Miami Dolphins Golf Tournament, Dolphins Auctions, the Scoreboard Celebration Club, gameday raffles and training camp raffles.
Organizations and programs the Miami Dolphins Foundation support include the sponsorship of Broward and Miami-Dade Public Libraries Summer Reading Programs, Children's Book Week, Teen Read Week, the Books and Bears program, Miami Dolphins Outdoor Learning Center at Island Dolphin Care, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Club, Jewish National Fund, University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center, Coastal Conservation Association, Broward Partnership for the Homeless and the United Way.
About the Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament
The Miami Dolphins Foundation hosts their biggest fundraiser of the year, giving event goers a chance to mingle with players past and present as well as coaches and cheerleaders. The fun-filled Fins Weekend will be taking place in May and features golf, fishing and exciting parties. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Miami Dolphins Foundation that works to provide and support local charities and programs in Southern Florida.
Day 1 – meet and greet
Fins Weekend will start off with the Celebrity Draw party where participants will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while interacting with elite Miami Football personnel. Participants will also be able to play games like putting, chipping and sand shot for a chance to win prizes before the real competitions begin.
Day 2 – golfing and silent auction
Hopefully participants don't have too much fun as they'll have to get down to business bright and early. During this time Dolphin players, alumni and community members will play 18 holes at the prestigious Turnberry Isle Golf Course, with an awards luncheon afterward. The night concludes with a dinner and silent auction.
Day 3 – fishing and awards
Saturday starts the real excitement – the annual Miami Dolphins Foundation Fishing Tournament. During the tournament amateur and professional anglers will meet at Miami Beach Marina for a day of fun-spirited fishing. Boaters will be accompanied by Miami Dolphins players, giving the fisherman a chance to show the professional athletes a thing or two about reeling in the big fish.
Once the competition is over, the fish will be brought in for weigh-ins, followed by the announcement of the winners and the awards ceremony. Winners for biggest fish and more will be announced during this time. First place winner will get the fabulous prize of going on the Miami Dolphins team charter airplane to attend an away game. The top winner will also be awarded with a grand trophy created by FineAwards.com. FineAwards.com is supplying all of the crystal awards, and winners will be able to bring them home to showcase in their living spaces and keep the memories of hanging out with Miami Dolphin elite fresh in their minds until next year.
FineAwards.com, who has sponsored the tournament for over the past decade by supplying all of the custom trophies given out to the winners, also participates in the fishing. Members of the company went fishing and although they didn't win any of their own custom crystal awards for sport fishing, they did make a few catches.
FineAwards.com representatives over the years have caught a total of 4 Blackfin between 20 and 28 pounds each, many schoolie Dolphin and one African Pompano. The Sales director for FineAwards.com took home three glass trophies in recognition of her excellent efforts. She won the Ladies Overall category, as well as First Place Largest Tuna and Overall Largest Tuna after reeling in a remarkable fish. Other winning categories that handed out recognition awards included the largest Kingfish, Dolphin and Wahoo.
